Once seen in the same level of quality as the likes of Neymar and Coutinho, Brazilian superstar Lucas Moura has completed a move to Tottenham Hotspur. While he’s yet to live up to the massive tag of being the next star of the Brazilian game outside of minor flashes, the Brazilian has long been one of the most exciting talents in the European game.
For many, he’s among the best players in the French league and should prove to be a fun acquisition for Spurs fans to enjoy watching. His electric feet and wonderful dribbling make him a stand-out performer.
Now at 25 and working with a coach in Mauricio Pochettino who excels at helping frustrated players excel, this move could be a fantastic signing for all concerned. Moura gets to restart a career that has felt derailed since Neymar stole his limelight in the summer at PSG. Meanwhile, Spurs get to strengthen in the one area of the side that it could be said they were light in depth and quality.
Linked with other English sides including Liverpool and Manchester United, Moura knows he must find form quickly if he’s to make the 2018 World Cup squad. Just 72 minutes of playing time so far this season means he’ll be free to play for Spurs in Europe, too, and could prove a major coup if his new coach can unleash the potential locked within.
