Following his incredible rise to the top of the European game, Harry Kane has had many suitors. Stories have linked him with everyone the two Manchester sides to Real Madrid. Kane, though, has been quite loyal to Spurs – making it clear that he seen his future at Tottenham for the medium-term. With Spurs crashing out of Europe at home to Juventus in midweek, though, Kane was quite open that he might be looking at other options on the market.
Kane, 24, has spoken in the past of his desire to win trophies – preferably with Spurs – but that he has limits to his patience. With Spurs failing to win a trophy since 2008, it would be hard to sell staying at Spurs for the long-term if he wishes to fill his medal haul.
A lifelong Spurs fan though, it might be hard for him to pry himself away from the club who broadly helped him to reach his full potential so far. With a contract until 2022, too, he’s under no rush to make a decision.
Claims have been made that Spurs’ star players are happy to give it another season, when they move into their new stadium, before deciding to move on if ambitions remain unfulfilled. The way that Spurs exited Europe, though, will have left a sour taste in the mouth in some of their star players.
If an exodus is to come, expect Kane to be the most sought-after.
