For what feels like the hundredth time since Welsh star Gareth Bale made the move to Real Madrid, links are popping up claiming he’s due to leave the club in the summer. Reports in Marca claim that 28-year-old Bale is on the way out at the Bernabeu.
Apparently, five years is enough for Madrid to want to play with a new toy and, pending a good offer, Bale will be moving on from the club. A very impressive attacking option, Premier League clubs will likely be desperate to land him.
The likes of Manchester United, who have long had a passionate interest in the attacker, might renew that interest in the summer when the move becomes more likely. Poor fitness over the last few seasons has seen faith in the attacker – who starred in his early campaigns – dwindle. He missed out against PSG in the Champions League and, having fallen down the pecking order, is seemingly looking to move on.
With Madrid, though, it’s hard to see if the fee they demand will be a plausible price someone will pay. If Bale is to leave, though, his injury record might reduce the opportunities that exist.
