Having arrived at Watford in the summer to some acclaim, Brazilian starlet Richarlison was seen as a major coup. A very impressive young attacker, the 20-year-old has impressed greatly in his debut term in England, with 5 goals and 4 assists in just 27 games. A drop-off in the winter was expected, but it appears that his dip has not been enough to ward off suitors in Chelsea.
The London club are due a revamp of their squad, with many players either no longer contributing or reaching the end of their journey with the club. Richarlison is seen as a perfect add-on to their side, with the Blues and also Tottenham being heavily linked with a move in January. While nothing materialized, then, a summer return by both clubs is not beyond expectation.
Speaking to the London Evening Standard, Richarlison was open about the potential of a move in the future, saying: “In the future you never know but I leave all things like that up to my agents,
“At the moment my head is completely in Watford. I am not thinking about anything else and I want to help the team get as far as possible in the league. That is my objective, that is my focus and nothing else.”
Richarlison was noted to have been visibly annoyed by the departure of Marco Silva, and it would appear that his stay in Watford might be a shorter one than expected, especially if Chelsea come calling.
