Having seemingly met an impasse with AS Roma over the transfer of Brazilian full-back Emerson Palmeri, Chelsea have, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, changed their gaze to a new target. Despite the performances of full-back Marcos Alonso, Chelsea are seemingly desperate to secure a replacement – with the opportunity moving to look at Layvin Kurzawa.
The ex-Monaco man has never been first-pick at PSG, either, and is likely to make a move from the French side now or in the summer. With links increasing all the time, it would appear that the Blues are now closer to making a move for a player they rate highly.
With Kurzawa expected to provide competition to Alonso, a change at full-back seems to be a likely option for Chelsea. While a move for Edin Dzeko is still moving closer for Chelsea, a move for the Brazilian appears to be dead for now.
Not happy to allow Alonso to feel the lack of competition, a move appears to be in the offing for a replacement or a rotation option. Kurzawa, though, has struggled to ever show the form that seen him move to Paris in the first place, playing just a mere half of the Parisian clubs games so far.
Now 25, it would appear that he’s likely to make a move from the club – having secured his place in history after scoring a hat-trick in the Champions League, becoming the first defender in history to do so, suiting Chelsea’ attacking instincts perfectly.
